Bath time with our friend Isaac!

Here are some pictures from when Isaac came over last week - this is right before our naked dance party! Mom needs to get some pics of that!

So yesterday we bought B some new spring/summer shoes - I really wanted him to have a sandal of some kind. Had hoped to purchase some Riley Roos (www.rileyroos.com) but when PJ took B for his check up last week, he suggested a harder soled shoe b/c of how B turns his left foot in slightly (which is probably related to his hip issue at birth - same side). Well, I looked around, but was having trouble finding something I liked..... well we went to the mall yesterday intending to go to Stride Rite, but ended up first in a department store and I fell in love with pair of Keen sandals. They are sturdy, athletic looking, and just fun - not the same old same old....... Here is a link to the pair we bought him (in navy). Brennan was so excited that we put them on in the car and then went home and played in our new shoes!

Dance Party

So every night after Brennan has a bath, we turn up the music and dance. Naked. Well, just Brennan is naked, but it is hilarious. A fun wholesome family affair!

On Saint Patty's Day, our friend Amanda and her son Isaac joined us for dinner (her hubby was out of town) and so the boys took their bath together (pics coming soon) and then the dance party got started........

Well, Amanda sent me the following message titled, "We can't all be like the McCools"
Isaac had a bath tonight and I thought we would try the whole dance naked thing because he liked it so much at your house. Well, as I'm searching for the music channel...I hear a big sigh and then water hitting the floor...the sigh was from Isaac and the water was pee! As I jumped and said oh no, Isaac jumped and stopped peeing. I guess I scared him and he stopped peeing.
It was pretty funny.

A little chatterbox

Brennan has become quite the little chatter box - all the time he just talks talks talks! It is so cute! I have actually noticed quite a change in him in just the past two weeks - it is hard to pinpoint, but he has gotten a little taller, started having more "conversations", and really been mimicing our words (my favorite is Cous Cous! But please is a close second!). It is so fun to see his development!

A new friend!

So I have been wanting to do some kind of volunteer work, but have struggled b/c I don't want to take away from my precious time with B. And then something came across my email today that sounded perfect! My sorority, Delta Gamma, which I am still actively involved in, has something called the Golden Anchor Program, in which we work with senior citizens in our community - just making visits, caring about them, whatever they need! Well, there is someone in need who lives very close to me! And usually older women love babies, so I figure that B and I can easily go for an hour on the weekends, send cards, and bake goods. I anticipate a lovely relationship between this lady, my son, and I! So excited to get started and thrilled that this presented itself! As I am stepping away from my other DG volunteer activities when my term ends in May (I currently work with collegians in IN, OH, and MI, focused on recruitment), this will be the perfect thing for us! YAY - can't wait to meet our new friend!

He loves beans and brooms

Aren't little kids funny? Brennan's new favorite thing (which changes on a weekly basis) is to push the broom or swiffer around the house - especially if I am cleaning/vacuuming! It is hilarious - and he knows right where I keep them and gets very irritated if he can't sweep when he wants! He even sweeps the carpeted areas! And we have a new favorite book called Peekaboo kisses - so cute - it is a touch and feel book, and the last page has a little mirror - to which he always yells, "HI!" and gives himself a close up. We read it over and over and over and over....you know, just how toddlers like it!

He is also obsessed with eating beans! Black beans, kidney beans - whatever. He isn't really in to meat - especially chicken, which we have a lot, so I give him beans to help his protein and he loves them! I guess it is a good problem to have!

Still thinking he is lactose intolerant - last night we had Shepherd's Pie and gave some to B (it has mased potatoes in it) and today was GASSY! Smelly boy! No more for a while!
